Terms of Service
Effective: April 6, 2026 · Last updated: April 6, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Outpost ("we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the Outpost mobile application, website at https://outpost.app, and all related software, features, and services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, downloading the app, or using any part of the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
If you are using Outpost on behalf of a business, agency, organization, or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have full authority to bind that entity to these Terms, and references to "you" include that entity.
2. Eligibility and Account Registration
You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) to create an account. By using Outpost, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
You may register using an email address and password, or by signing in through a supported third-party identity provider (currently Google and Apple). You are responsible for providing accurate, current, and complete information and for keeping that information up to date.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@outpost.app if you believe your account has been compromised. We are not liable for losses or damage arising from unauthorized use of your credentials.
3. The Outpost Service
Outpost is a social media content management and publishing platform. The Service allows you to draft and compose posts (including text captions and media attachments), schedule posts for future publication, connect multiple third-party social media accounts, and publish content across connected platforms from a single interface.
Supported publishing platforms currently include Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube. The availability of any specific platform integration may change based on third-party API access, developer agreements, or platform policy changes outside our control.
We reserve the right to add, modify, suspend, restrict, or remove any feature, integration, or part of the Service at any time. When reasonably practicable, we will provide notice of material changes. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of those changes.
4. Connected Social Media Accounts
To publish content, you must connect one or more third-party social media accounts using that platform's OAuth authorization flow. By connecting an account, you authorize Outpost to: access your basic profile information (name, handle, avatar) from that platform; store and use OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens to authenticate future requests on your behalf; publish posts, captions, images, and videos to that account as you direct; and retrieve your post and account data to display within the Service.
You represent and warrant that: (a) you are the owner or authorized operator of each connected account; (b) you have the right to grant Outpost the permissions requested; and (c) your use of connected accounts through Outpost complies with the terms of service of each respective platform.
Connected platform tokens are stored securely and used only to perform actions you request. You may disconnect any social account at any time through the app's Connections screen. Upon disconnection, we will cease using that account's tokens for new publishing actions, though we may retain records of past activity for compliance and security purposes.
Outpost is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram, Facebook, Meta, X Corp, LinkedIn, TikTok, ByteDance, Google, or YouTube. We are not responsible for any actions those platforms take regarding your accounts, content, or API access.
5. User Content
You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, draft, schedule, or publish through Outpost, including text captions, images, video files, and any platform-specific content variations ("Your Content").
By using the Service, you grant Outpost a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display, and use Your Content solely to the extent necessary to: operate and provide the Service; publish content to connected platforms at your direction; display drafts and scheduled posts within your account; analyze and improve service performance; and investigate abuse or enforce these Terms.
You represent and warrant that: (a) you own or have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to submit and publish Your Content; (b) Your Content does not infringe any copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy, publicity, or other intellectual property or proprietary right of any person; (c) Your Content complies with all applicable laws and with the content policies of each connected social platform; and (d) Your Content does not include personal information of third parties without their authorization.
You are solely responsible for all content you publish through Outpost. We are not responsible for the publication, distribution, or consequences of Your Content on any third-party platform.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the Service to: (a) publish, schedule, or distribute content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, fraudulent, deceptive, or otherwise harmful; (b) infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights of any person or entity; (c) violate the terms of service, community guidelines, or usage policies of any connected social platform; (d) impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity; (e) distribute spam, malware, viruses, or other malicious code; or (f) publish content that sexually exploits minors.
You may not: (a) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other user accounts, or systems; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or extract source code from the Service; (c) scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service using automated means; (d) use the Service in a manner that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure or disrupts access for other users; (e) circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features or access controls; or (f) use the Service to facilitate third-party services that compete with Outpost without our written consent.
Violations of these prohibitions may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, removal of content, referral to law enforcement, and any other remedies available under law.
7. Plans, Subscriptions, and Billing
Outpost offers a Free plan that permits up to four (4) published posts per calendar month. Usage against this limit is tracked within the app. If you reach your monthly limit, you must upgrade to a paid plan or wait until the next calendar month to publish additional posts.
We offer paid subscription plans that remove the monthly post limit and provide access to additional features. Current subscription options are displayed in the app's upgrade screen. Pricing is subject to change; any price changes to your active subscription will be communicated in advance and will take effect at your next renewal period.
Subscriptions are billed in advance on the recurring schedule you select (weekly, monthly, or annually). Payments are processed through the applicable platform payment system (Apple App Store or Google Play). All billing, refund, and cancellation terms are governed by those platforms' policies, not by Outpost. We do not directly process or store your payment card information. To cancel a subscription, manage it through your Apple ID subscription settings (iOS) or Google Play subscription settings (Android). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will retain Pro access until then.
Free trials, where offered, will convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before the trial ends. The trial terms, duration, and post-trial pricing will be clearly disclosed at sign-up.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any plan or pricing tier at any time with reasonable notice. If we discontinue a paid plan you are subscribed to, we will provide a prorated credit or refund as appropriate.
8. Device Permissions
Outpost requests access to your device's media library (photo and video gallery) to allow you to select images and videos when creating posts. This permission is requested at runtime and is used solely for the purpose of attaching media to your content. We do not access your media library without your explicit initiation of the media selection flow.
We do not access your device camera, microphone, location, contacts, or calendar. If future features require additional permissions, we will request them at the relevant time and explain their purpose.
9. Intellectual Property
The Outpost name, logo, visual design, interface, software, code, and all related materials are the intellectual property of Outpost or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, trade dress, and other applicable laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in Outpost's intellectual property beyond the limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
If you believe any content on or accessible through the Service infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please contact us at support@outpost.app with sufficient detail to allow us to investigate and respond.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service integrates with and relies upon third-party platforms, APIs, and infrastructure providers, including Supabase (authentication and database), Mixpanel (usage analytics), RevenueCat (subscription management), and the social media platforms described in Section 4. Your use of those third-party services is governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, privacy practices, or conduct of any third-party service or platform. Links or integrations in the app do not constitute our endorsement of or responsibility for any third-party products, services, or content.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components; that posts will be successfully published to connected platforms; that drafts or scheduled posts will be preserved in all circumstances; that any specific feature or integration will remain available; or that the Service will meet your requirements.
Certain jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties. In such jurisdictions, the foregoing exclusions apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUTPOST AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR REPUTATION, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM; OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).
These limitations reflect a reasonable allocation of risk and are a fundamental basis of the bargain between you and Outpost. The Service would not be provided without these limitations. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations, in which case they apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Outpost and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and licensors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) Your Content; (b) your connected social media accounts and the content published through them; (c) your use of or access to the Service; (d) your violation of these Terms; or (e) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.
We reserve the right to assume exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defense of such claim. You may not settle any claim that imposes obligations on us without our prior written consent.
14. Dispute Resolution
These Terms and any disputes arising from them are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Before filing a formal legal claim, you agree to contact us at support@outpost.app to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve disputes within 30 days of receiving your notice.
If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you agree that any legal claim will be resolved exclusively through binding individual arbitration, not in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies. You waive any right to participate in a class-action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing in these Terms limits your right to file a complaint with applicable consumer protection authorities, data protection authorities, or other regulatory bodies.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time through the Settings screen in the app, or by contacting us at support@outpost.app. Cancellation of a paid subscription does not automatically delete your account; those are separate actions.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without prior notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, if your use poses legal or security risk to us or other users, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. We will generally attempt to notify you in advance unless immediate action is necessary.
Upon termination or account deletion, your right to access and use the Service ends immediately. We may retain certain information for compliance, legal, fraud prevention, and security purposes as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections 5, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, and any accrued rights or obligations will survive termination.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes through the app, via the email address associated with your account, or through other appropriate means at least 30 days before the changes take effect, except where changes are required by law or address urgent security or legal issues.
If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service before the effective date of the changes. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. General Provisions
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms that apply to specific features, constitute the entire agreement between you and Outpost regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
You may not assign or transfer any rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may freely assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
18. Contact
Questions, concerns, or notices regarding these Terms should be sent to support@outpost.app or via the Support section within the app.
